Bill Roulette Photo

Bill R. Roulette, M.A., RPA - President and Principal Investigator
Bill has been a professional archaeologist since 1984.  Prior to founding AAR in 1996, he was a project-level archaeologist for cultural resource management companies in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Oregon.  He has conducted, supervised, or managed hundreds of archaeological projects.  Bill is thoroughly versed in the history and prehistory of the Pacific Northwest and has extensive experience in all phases of archaeological research and fieldwork.  He is knowledgeable of federal, state, and local cultural resource ordinances and has had formal training in Section 106 compliance.

Aimee Finley Photo

Aimee A. Finley, M.S. - Projects Manager / Historic Preservationist
Aimee has been a professional archaeologist since 1993 and a professional Historic Preservationist since 1999.  As Projects Manager, she oversees all logistical concerns and the day-to-day management of projects.  Aimee is an expert in identification, description, and assessment of above ground cultural resources and is well versed in the National Register of Historic Places evaluation and nomination process, federal and state cultural resource compliance law, cultural resource planning, architectural history, architectural photography, and building documentation.  She has completed numerous architectural surveys, written preservation plans, conducted extensive historical research, and developed historic contexts.

Kendal McDonald Photo

Kendal McDonald, M.A. - Office Manager/Project Archaeologist
Kendal oversees all day-to-day management of the AAR, Inc. offices.  In addition,  Kendal specializes in archaeogeophysics.  Since 1999, McDonald has conducted numerous magnetic surveys for  prehistoric and historical villages and homesteads, forts, battlefields, Civilian Conservation Corps sites, and cemeteries.  Her archeogeophysical work has been conducted throughout Oregon and Washington, and in Texas and Ireland.  Kendal lectures on magnetometry and has presented papers at regional and national conferences.

Fred Anderson Photo

Fred Anderson, M.A. - Project Archaeologist
Fred has been an archaeologist since 2001.  He has worked in Suriname, S.A., Mexico, Illinois, and throughout the Pacific Northwest. Graduate research focused on coastal geomorphic processes and the paleoenvironmental reconstruction of a south Oregon coast site. He specializes in geoarchaeology, environmental reconstruction, prehistoric archaeology and computer graphics.

Tom Becker Photo

Tom Becker, M.A., RPA - Project Archaeologist
Tom has been an archaeologist since 1999.  His graduate research focused on coastal sites in Lincoln County, Oregon.  Tom has traveled multiple times to South America to conduct archaeological excavations focused on the Suriname Maroons.  He is certified to monitor excavations involving hazardous waste and has directed or assisted in supervising archaeological surveys throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Krey Easton Photo

Krey Easton, M.A. (pending) - Project Archaeologist
Krey has worked in CRM for over ten years.  His primary interest is the identification and interpretation of animal remains from archaeological sites.  He is well versed in the identification of prehistoric as well as historic fish and mammal bones from the Pacific Northwest and has been involved in large-scale analysis from the region.  He has worked primarily in the Pacific Northwest with extended stays in Hawaii and the Pacific Islands.  Krey is experienced in all levels of fieldwork and has expertise in lithics, bone, and geologic processes as they relate to archaeology.

Jessica Hale Photo

Jessica Hale, M.S. - Project Archaeologist
Jess has been an archaeologist since 2003.  She has led or participated in cultural resource survey, testing, monitoring, and data recovery projects in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California.  She specializes in the identification and interpretation historic-era material culture.  She has a particular interest in archaeometry and her master’s thesis research used Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) to identify chemical signatures for ceramic wares from some of Britain’s largest historic-era potteries.  Her work in this area represents an important contribution to historical archaeology and is due to be published.  Additionally, Jessica is skilled in primary document research and in all phase of archaeological fieldwork.

Erica McCormick Photo

Erica D. McCormick, M.S., RPA - Project Archaeologist
Erica has worked throughout the Northwest and the Eastern Sierras as well as in Peru, Egypt, the U.K., and Belize for federal agencies, Tribal governments and private organizations.  She specializes in paleopathology, GIS, and lithic analysis.  Erica has extensive field and laboratory experience leading crews, designing and managing projects, and analyzing collections of human remains and lithics.  She earned her graduate degree in England where she focused on dental anthropology; she also recently earned a graduate certificate in GIS and has interests in predictive modeling.

Melissa Lehman, B.A. - Assistant Archaeologist
Melissa has been an archaeologist since 2001.  She has worked in Texas and the Pacific Northwest.  She produces artifact illustrations for AAR, Inc.  Other specialties: Field mapping, lithic identification, and soil description.

Rob McCurdy, B.S. - Assistant Archaeologist
Rob has been a field archaeologist since 2006.  He has worked throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.  His specialties are field mapping, soil description, and prehistoric artifact identification.  He is well-versed in the standard techniques of archaeological excavation.  Additionally, Rob assists with equipment maintenance.
